Nuclear or lenticular sclerosis is a normal aging change in dogs. It occurs when the lens of the eye loses clarity. You can compare this to when a previously clear headlight on a car slowly becomes foggier and opaque. There is a very good article here about this change: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/lenticular-sclerosis-in-dogs There is unfortunately no way to reverse this change. As the article states, it is thought that there is no major effect on the sight of the dog when this occurs. A general anti-oxidant, such as Turmeric, may help to slow the changes.
My senior girl is having eye issues. The Vet says that it's "degenerating lens nuclear sclerosis". He has confirmed that it's neither cataracts nor glaucoma. Do you have anything which can stop the degeneration?
