I got a cat that was abandoned in the park. She is skinny, sneezing a lot and breathes with a sound at times. I brought her to the vet and they said she probably has a cat flu, ear yeast infection and severe gum infection, also tested FeLV positive, she might have some kidney issues.
For gum infection, Mouth Drops could allow some relief, but if her teeth are quite severe, it won’t really reverse any of the damage, such as resorptive lesions (or ‘cavities’) which are very common in cats and cause dental pain. The Mouth Drops are also best if applied to the gums, so if your kitty gives you a hard time because they’d rather not have their mouth touched, you could just put it onto the food. It sounds like her immune system could use some help as well.
Stimmune can help ease nasal and upper respiratory congestion and helps to support the immune system while it fights infection. Felimm, Multi Essentials, ES Clear and Stimmune would all work simultaneously and get her healthy enough to the point where her teeth can be properly dealt with. She may unfortunately lose most or all her teeth, but cats do very well even with no teeth.
While she’s recovering and gaining strength, you might also want to offer her bone broth. It is extremely nutritious but also delicious. You can find it in some grocery stores, but you have to be very careful with the ingredients, as onions are toxic to dogs and cats. It would be a great addition to her food, adding vitamins, minerals and moisture to her diet to help her gain strength.
